・The reason I chose
Recently, “Norwegian Wood”, which was written by Haruki Murakami has been very popular. Actually. I have never read his book before, so I decided to read his one of the masterpieces to find the reason why his book is popular.
・Summary
This story is talked by “people whose eye is like a bird which flies the night sky high.”
The contents are about one day’s things which take place between Mari, who has insomnia and Eri, who keeps sleeping, from midnight to 7am. In addition, there are some characteristic people. For instance, there is a man who practices a lot for his band in the building, a woman who spends her time in the family restaurant. (She is Mari.) In this story, incidents are treated as just daily things. Totally, “After Dark” is objectively describing the things which happen during the dark night to the light morning.
・Response
To be honest, I was not able to be content with this story because it is too deep; “After Dark” was including a lot of profound contents. Actually I could not understand where Haruki Murakami is going or thinking, so I need more time to think it over. As one of the parts I could understand, I thought that there was a kind of his ambivalence in this story. I cannot say anything toward his feeling concisely but I guess this story indirectly describes his feeling partly. Certainly we should read his book again and again and need to consider what he wants to say.
・Level
quite difficult to think it over
